A three-year, $1.5M capital campaign to ensure Discovery Church has room for next person who walks through our doors looking for their place in God’s story.
PHASE 1: THE NEXT CHAPTER
Phase 1 of our capital campaign involves raising $1.5M over the next three years to create a new teaching hallway. A total of 7,200 square feet of new building space will include:
2,000 square feet in five new classrooms
2,000 square feet of new youth meeting space
350 square feet of additional storage
Multiple bathrooms with 10x new toilets
But this effort isn’t really about a building. It’s about people. People who are searching and seeking for something. People who are looking to heal hurts. People who need a safe place to discover God and their place in his story.

We recognize there are a variety of ministries that could benefit from additional space. First and foremost, we want to prioritize our youth and children. However, just like our existing church facilities, the new spaces will be multipurpose for children, youth, small groups, meetings, and other needs as they arise.

This has been factored into the plan by the design firm as part of site prep for Phase 1.

The initial capital campaign goal of $1.5M is only for general construction.

If we do not raise the full amount needed, decisions will be made based on how much the campaign brings in. The goal is that we do not take on any additional debt for the project.

If we are unable to proceed with the project, givers will be asked how they want to treat their pledge.

While Phase 1 stands alone and future phases will be considered separately, the total current estimate to complete all four phases of potential expansion is $8-10M.

Once started, the construction is expected to take at least one year.

As funds are pledged, we will consider parts of the construction that can start. We could also consider a construction line of credit to get started, with payback coming from the future pledged funds.

There might need to be some adjustments, but we don’t anticipate the need to fully stop or significantly interrupt ministries. Logistics will continue to be worked out over time with input from staff.

Adjustments might need to be made for Camp 412 based on potential construction activities at that time, but we definitely plan to continue with it.

Communication will become a normal, transparent part of the campaign process. Updates will be shared frequently on the Discovery Church website and through announcements during our regular fellowship services.
