Camp 412 Adventures

Adventures

Adventures are activities lasting 50 minutes. Campers will choose three that they will participate in all week. They choose one adventure from each section. Once submitted on the registration form changed are not permitted so be sure your child is involved in making the selections they want most.

Campers will choose ONE Adventure from each section

(Adventure 1, Adventure 2 and Adventure 3)

Adventure 1 

  • Art - If your child loves being creative, is a fan of making a project their own and maybe getting a little messy, this is their dream! This adventure is open to all grades, but Adventure 1, Art is only for those completing Kindergarten, 1st or 2nd grade in 2025

  • Bling! Bling! - From beads to braids and everything in between, this jewelry making class is sure to NOT disappoint the jewelry making lover in your life! Adventure 1, Bling! Bling! is open only for those completing Kindergarten, 1st or 2nd grades in 2025.

  • Construction – in this adventure our campers will have the opportunity to learn from some men who know how to do it all!  From the design, to purchasing, to building it from start to finish.  Campers will learn how to safely do construction and will bring home a completed project!  This adventure is offered twice, but is open to ONLY those completing 3rd, 4th or 5th grades in 2025.

  • Covert Ops – a secret entrance to this adventure is just the tip of the iceberg of the super cool things it contains. Campers will see examples from the Bible of men who honored Christ and others with their actions. They will then perform covert ops each day to complete acts of kindness for other campers based on that days Bible character. This adventure is for boys only and is open to all grades.

  • Dribble Drills – in this session, we’ll focus on the basics of basketball ball handling.  You’ll do lots of drills to help you feel more confident and improve you’re dribbling.  We’ll also focus on your defense with some fun games and exercises. Adventure 1, Dribble Drills is only for those completing 3rd, 4th or 5th grade in 2025.

  • GLORYGracious, Loving, Obedient Respectful, Yielding- This girl only adventure is based on the biblical traits of women in scripture. Girls will learn what these words mean and how to emulate them in their daily lives through fun, interactive and practical activities! This adventure is open to all grades.

  • Heroes in Training - Hoping to inspire campers to fall in love with our everyday heroes, they will get to meet members of our local Fire Department, Police Department, EMS, Parks & Rec and our military. We can’t wait to hear stories in the future about campers who made the decision at Camp 412 to serve others for a career! This adventure is open to all grades.

  • Kooky Science - Science experiments that might be messy, explode or both are the best and your campers will be mesmerized, excited and in love with science by the time they leave camp! Kooky Science, Adventure 1 is open only to campers completing Kindergarten, 1st or 2nd grades in 2025.

  • Lego Love – If you like Legos then this is the one for you!  Campers will be challenged to build a project with just a couple of (large) handfuls of random legos and we can’t wait to see their creativity shine! Lego Love is open to all ages.

  • Little Reporters – In this adventure campers will be given the opportunity to create a daily newsletter about camp throughout the week. They’ll interview staffers, get quotes from campers, write articles, take photos and layout the newsletter each day. They’ll then be able to hand it out to other campers as they depart each afternoon. This adventure is open to only those completing 3rd, 4th or 5th grades in 2025.

  • Painting – In the past we’ve offered an art class that shared the spotlight with painting, but this year, we’re excited to offer something that finally gives painting its due! In this session, kids will learn how to construct an idea of what to paint and how to best create it using various brushes, paints and techniques on a variety of canvases.  Adventure 1, Painting is open to only those completing 3rd, 4th or 5th grades in 2025.

  • Paracord Party – Strong enough to support more than the weight of a human.  Cool enough to be worn by our military, this adventure will feature you guessed it – Paracord! Campers will start by making bracelets and see where the cord takes them! Adventure 1, Paracord Party is open only to those completing Kindergarten, 1st or 2nd grades in 2025.

  • Playground - They see it every time they come to church or drive by and they BEG for more time on it once they’re there so this is their opportunity for 50 uninterrupted minutes of glorious playground time. NOTE: this class is offered three times. Campers are only allowed to take it ONCE. If you sign them up for more than one time, they will be removed from subsequent offerings and placed in whatever sessions are still available. Adventure 1, Playground is open to all grades.

  • Soccer - The sport every child loves! We’ll learn basics, do drills and play full games. This adventure is offered to ONLY those completing Kindergarten, 1st or 2nd grades in 2025.

  • Target Practice – In this adventure campers will have the opportunity to hone their skills at aiming at various targets throughout the week. One of our school systems archery teachers will join us for this week of camp making sure kids have the best opportunity to learn all they can in a safe and controlled environment! This adventure is offered to only those completing 3rd, 4th or 5th grade in 2025.

  • Tie-Dyeing - Who doesn’t LOVE tie-dyed stuff? Campers in this adventure will make a new creation each day. This adventure is offered only to those completing 3rd, 4th or 5th grade in 2025.

 Adventure 2

  • Board Games – need a little break from ultra-high energy games and activities and instead want to chill with a few folks playing some of your favorite board games, this one is for you!  This adventure is open to all ages.

  • Boondoggling – New to camp 412 this year, Boondoggle is a relaxing craft where you weave and knot multiple strands of colorful plastic cord together to make keychains, lanyards, bracelets and many other things.  This adventure is open to only those completing 3rd, 4th or 5th grade in 2025.

  • Disc Golf – how few throws will it take you to hit the target?  In this new to Camp 412 adventure those completing 3rd, 4th or 5th grades in 2025 have the opportunity to find out!  Using a frisbee/disc, campers will learn the basics of throwing, scoring and ultimately winning at Disc Golf!

  • Drive it! - We’re excited to offer this adventure that will learn the basics of golf. They’ll learn how to putt, drive, tee and enjoy this super fun game!  This adventure is offered only to those completing 3rd, 4th or 5th grade in 2025.

  • Fast Food – fun recipes that campers of all ages can make, share and enjoy!  Kids will learn to use measuring cups, spoons and how to have a good time in the kitchen (even though it’ll likely be in a classroom!) We request that children with food allergies not participate in this adventure as no substitutions or alterations to the recipes will be made to accommodate. This adventure is offered twice and is open to all ages.

  • Gaga Ball – A favorite of campers everywhere, gaga ball is kind of like dodgeball, but safer because hits must be from the waist down. Adventure 2, Gaga Ball is available only to campers completing Kindergarten, 1st or 2nd grade in 2025.

  • Martial Arts – Stryker Martial Arts, owner and chief instructor, Chris Massie will be here to lead a group of campers through training each day. This adventure is open to a limited number of all grades.

  • Playground - They see it every time they come to church or drive by and they BEG for more time on it once they’re there so this is their opportunity for 50 uninterrupted minutes of glorious playground time. NOTE: this class is offered three times. Campers are only allowed to take it ONCE.   • Sent to Serve – sticking with what Discovery Church knows and loves, this adventure will allow kids to love on our community.  The week will teach campers about those in need in our community and allow them serve to do 2 to 3 projects and deliver them to those in need.  This adventure is open to all ages and will require a signed permission slip allowing your child to leave the property on a church owned vehicle for the 50-minute period of this session. 

  • Slime City – It’s goopy. It’s gross. But goodness, they love it! In this adventure, kids will make a new slime each day. Note: They WILL bring slime home so only register them here if you’re okay with that. This adventure is open only to those completing 3rd, 4th or 5th grade in 2025.

 Adventure 3

  •  Crocheting Craze – New to Camp 412 this year, Crochet Craze will teach basic stitches and techniques of crocheting to create a beautiful and useful project.  This adventure is open only to those completing 3rd, 4th or 5th grades in 2025.

  • Drama Llama - Our drama class will give campers a practical look into acting. Throughout the week, many campers in this group will perform in daily skits and all participants will appear in an end of the week performance that you are invited to come watch! This adventure is open to all grades.

  • Fast Food – fun recipes that campers of all ages can make, share and enjoy!  Kids will learn to use measuring cups, spoons and how to have a good time in the kitchen (even though it’ll likely be in a classroom!)   • Footballs and Flags – a local football hero coaches will join us for a revived football adventure this year. Open to campers of all ages, this flag football adventure is sure to be fun and educational.  Campers will learn the basics of football and get to execute on that knowledge by playing flag football.

  • Illusions - Sleight of hand is such a fun way to entertain the masses and your kids have the opportunity to learn how to amaze and bedazzle you! They’ll also learn that magic isn’t real, it’s all just sleight of hand! This adventure is open only to those completing Kindergarten, 1st or 2nd grade in 2025.

  • Sign Language – A new and super exciting addition to Camp 412 this year is Sign Language.  What an incredible opportunity to introduce our campers to a new way to communicate with those around them.  A local signer will be here to teach kids basic sign language and we can’t wait for them to share it all with you! This adventure is open to all grades.

  • Survivor Island – In this revamped adventure, campers will learn to survive in the wild. They’ll scale a rock-climbing wall (an inflatable one), run an obstacle course, learn to build a fire, hike around our property learning to identify plants, poisonous plants and animal scat.  This is one of our most popular adventures and is open only to campers in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade in 2025.

  • Volleyball - Inviting one of our high school students to lead alongside some of our younger SWAT team members who play travel volleyball, we’ll teach the basics of volleyball and let you leave with bump, set and spike stars!  This adventure will be under the supervision of our adult camp staff and is open only to those completing 3rd, 4th and 5th grade in 2025.

  • Yard Games - If it can be played in a yard, it will be played in our yard! Suffice it to say, there will be plenty of kickball, ladder ball and tag! This adventure is open only to those completing Kindergarten, 1st or 2nd grade in 2025.
